Now on their twelfth year of giving back, associates from Coca-Cola Beverages Philippines Inc. (CCBPI) in Cebu once again lent their time, skills and energy in volunteering in the Brigada Eskwela program of the Department of Education. Helping repair and prepare public elementary and high school classrooms and other facilities before the opening of classes, these volunteers help ensure that students can look forward to a conducive learning environment upon the start of the school year.
This year, the chosen beneficiary was the Tipolo Elementary School in Cebu, where 30 Coca-Cola associates participated in cleaning, and re-painting activities.
“The time we spent at the Tipolo Elementary School was truly a rewarding and enriching experience,” said Manny Bibit, Coca-Cola Cebu plant manager. “I’m extremely proud of how volunteerism, lending a hand to the communities we serve, is at the heart of our culture in Coca-Cola. Our efforts with Brigada Eskwela is very much an expression of that.”
Bibit adds, “We are inspired to work harder, because we want to leave lasting, positive impact in the communities we are a part of.”
Throughout the Coca-Cola system, thousands of CCBPI associates nationwide actively volunteer their time and resources to positively contribute to programs and projects on education, health, and livelihood, and environment conservation.
As a company, CCBPI ensures that it leaves a lasting positive impact in its host-communities, as it works toward continuously strengthening partnerships with all stakeholders through environmentally- and socially-conscious policies.
