“Where do we eat in Mandaue City” is a question that did not have a lot of answers back then as most of the interesting dining establishments in the industrial city were located along A.S. Fortuna.
But last August 3, a new food destination formally opened on the other side of Mandaue City, at the Mandaue Reclamation Area. Say hello to The Market by Sugbo Mercado!
The first “containerized” food park in Mandaue City has an area of approximately 2,500 square meters and uses 28 container vans for its main structure. The food and beverage tenants have been carefully selected so that they’re distinct from one another – from a number of popular brands at Sugbo Mercado IT Park, to new and unique concepts. The Market continues Sugbo Mercado’s role as an “incubator” for startup businesses and we’re thrilled to witness a couple more business success stories!
Because of its high ceiling, ventilation is not an issue at The Market
The dining area can accommodate up to 350 people. Soon, the second floor will be a coffee shop / co-working space.
The Market by Sugbo Mercado is open from Tuesdays to Sundays, 5PM to 1AM. They are located at Mantawi International Drive (in front of MO2 Westown Lagoon & across UC Med), Mandaue Reclamation Area.
Starting next week, The Market will be having themed nights. Check this out:
Tuesdays – Movie Nights
Wednesdays – Trivia/Slogos Nights
Thursdays – Poetry Nights
Fridays-Sundays – Bands
Meanwhile, check out some of the vendors at The Market. Since they are each assigned a container, they have freedom to design their space to suit their flavor and branding.
– Cheggs – The owners deep love for Cheese and Eggs in all its confectionary form drove them to craft their own unique creations. Being producers and retailers of their key ingredients (Cheese, Eggs), they leveraged their understanding of quality ingredients to create pastries that are familiar but provide a whole new experience.
– The Lemon Co. – freshly pressed lemonade
– Cary’s Lechon and Roast Beef
– Seabu – serving seafood, they are committed to sourcing their fresh seafood from local fishermen, crabbers and environmentally friendly fisheries.
– Tokyo Street 123 is a Japanese food shop where you can eat authentic Japanese food. Ramen is their specialty plus they also have bento gyoza and yakisoba.
– #WingWazz – 20 peso wings or unlimited wings at P188, anyone?
– Double Dough Tango Pizzeria – with a desire to give the Filipinos a taste of authentic Chicago Deep Dish.
– Sheldon’s Dessert Factory – all-natural, less sugar, less fat artisanal gelato
– Miss Trinh Vietnamese Foods
– Piñacoolada – freshly squeezed pineapple drinks, using only pineapples freshly harvested from their pineapple plantation in Kananga, Leyte
– Banana Pancake Trail – a personal favorite of mine; Southeast Asian street food made accessible to Cebuanos.
– Curry Point
– Tropic Fruit Bar – natural fruit shakes
– CRIBS Cebu – Indonesian-Dutch cuisine
– YOSAN Toppings – affordable (affordable, like below P100) rice toppings
– Siomai ta Bai
– Kuzina Guadalupe – another personal favorite. Gosh you have to try their lechon belly and tuna panga!
– Hebrews Shebrews – get your milk tea fix
– Chi’s – Pinoy meals, silog and snacks
– MO2 – beverages
– Barbix Barbecue and Grill – “Original” Cebu barbecue
These are some of our favorites at The Market: Pizza from Double Dough Tango Pizzeria, Cheesy and Garlic Butter Scallops from Seabu, Okinawa Milk Tea from Hebrews Shebrews, and ramen from Tokyo Street 123
No comment super duper……..
