The Philippines is set to welcome a new global landmark in hospitality as Megaworld Hotels & Resorts partners with Accor to convert the 1,530-room Grand Westside Hotel into Mövenpick Manila Bay Westside, making it the largest Mövenpick hotel in the world.
The collaboration will involve brand alignment, systems integration, and operational enhancements, with the rebranded hotel scheduled to open before the end of 2026.
Strengthening the Philippines as a Global Hospitality Powerhouse
According to Garth Simmons, Accor Chief Operating Officer, the partnership is a strategic move to support the country’s strong momentum in tourism. “Mövenpick Manila Bay Westside will stand as a flagship property for our premium portfolio, helping drive visibility and demand in key global markets,” he said.
Accor and Megaworld see this project as a major step toward enhancing the Philippines’ reputation as a world-class destination for leisure, entertainment, and business travel.
“The opening of the world’s largest Mövenpick is a testament to our commitment to world-class hospitality and our readiness to welcome global travelers,” shared Cleofe Albiso, Managing Director of Megaworld Hotels & Resorts.
