Last Saturday night, I had the pleasure of samplin Last Saturday night, I had the pleasure of sampling the new menu at Maya Mexican Restaurant, Cebu’s go-to spot for traditional SoCal-style Mexican cuisine and tequila delights. 🌮 The revamped menu, which was launched to celebrate their 15th anniversary, now features smaller plates, perfect for sharing with friends. Some standouts were the Chorizo & Potato Empanada, the crispy Taquitos, and my absolute favorite—the Seafood Ceviche, packed with scallops and shrimp marinated in citrus and chili. 🍤 Then came the tender Costillas, juicy Maya Hot Wings, and sizzling Fajitas with all the fixings. We also enjoyed Vientre de Puerco (roasted crispy pork belly) fajitas, tacos, and loaded nachos. ⁣ ⁣ But the night didn’t stop there. We also experienced a bar takeover by Bar by East, a renowned cocktail bar from Marikina City. I decided it was time for a little self-care.⁣ ⁣ I finally found the time to step into Bodyworx Medical Group almost a year since my last visit in September 2023. Bodyworx used a blend of seaweed and other natural exfoliants to remove dead skin cells, leaving my skin feeling fresh and renewed. ⁣ ⁣ Next came the arbutin mask, which was cool and refreshing.⁣ ⁣ After the mask was removed, my skin was treated to a series of serums and moisturizers, each tailored to address my specific skin concerns. The session concluded with phototherapy to reduce inflammation and kill/prevent bacteria.⁣ ⁣ By the end of the two hours, my skin felt incredibly smooth, hydrated, and visibly clearer. The rooftop location, affording never-before-seen views of Mactan Island, was also officially launched during the occasion. ⁣ ⁣ Jpark’s Feast of Flavors was literally a feast of flavors as it brought together the resort’s five distinct dining venues: Ching Hai (Chinese Restaurant), Maru (Korean Restaurant), Nonki (Japanese Restaurant), The Abalone (International Buffet restaurant), and Coral Seaside Restaurant, plus Galo’s upcoming offerings. Take me back to UNWND Camiguin where I immersed in Take me back to UNWND Camiguin where I immersed into the art of being chill. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ The hotel is a welcome addition to the island’s hospitality industry, with its unique concept. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ The well-appointed rooms provide maximum comfort after an activity-filled day. The beds, immaculate! There are more than enough power outlets in strategic locations.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ The food at their in-house restaurant, “Mamser!” is excellent. Proof of that is the number of guests who visit just to dine, at any given time. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ The vibe at the property is very youthful with its sundeck, pool, jacuzzi. What I love about UNWND is how it involves the local community. On weekends, they hold events such as Sundown Sessions, and Open Mic Nights, featuring local talent. This weekend, they will have their first-ever Pride Night.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ But one of the highlights of our stay at UNWND is their service. Their crew is very cheerful and polite. After two months in the cold, I finally got to catch up with summer in the tropics, in CAMIGUIN!⁣ ⁣ It has been 9 years since my previous visit and the island has managed to maintain its laidback charm. A quick 3D2N break from the city, just enough to refuel me for the days ahead. Here’s a short clip featuring the places we visited over the weekend. ⁣ ⁣ 📍 We stayed at UNWND Boutique Hotel which opened just this February! Its location across White Island, is the perfect jump off point for the sandbar, and the inland tour. Camiguin is small, and two full days would be enough to cover most of the destinations and activities. Of course, tired from a full itinerary, we got home to a really glorious accommodation.
