I wasn’t expecting this at all, but what a wonderful surprise! I just found out I’m a finalist for Best Cebu Events and Lifestyle Blog at the Best Cebu Blogs Awards 2025 (BCBA)!
Honestly, this caught me off guard in the best way possible. I’ve been in what I jokingly call my “semi-retirement era”, that is, laying low, taking things slow, and focusing more on offline life lately. So to be recognized again feels extra special. And it’s just a few weeks before my birthday, too! What a gift.
A Full-Circle Moment
Looking back, this nomination feels like a beautiful reminder of how far blogging has come. and how much it still means to me.
I still remember winning the very first BCBA way back in 2008, being named Best Personal Blog in 2019, and receiving a special award in 2022. You could say my journey’s been a bit inconsistent (haha), but I like to call it longevity.
Blogging, for me, has always been a cycle of highs and lows. Sometimes you’re publishing weekly; other times, you’re quietly living life offline. But the passion, that drive to share stories, experiences, and a slice of Cebu life has never really left.
Blogging Still Matters
People say blogging is dead, but I don’t believe that for a second. Long-form content may not be the trendiest format anymore, but it’s timeless.
There are still readers out there who prefer sitting down with a good story or a detailed travel or events guide. And let’s be real, blogs will always live on search engines!
That’s the beauty of what we do. We create something lasting, something people can discover years from now.

For those who don’t know, the Best Cebu Blogs Awards (BCBA) is the only and pioneering award-giving body that recognizes Cebu-based bloggers and social media influencers.
Held annually, BCBA honors the finest Cebuano blogs that continue to uplift local storytelling and showcase Cebu’s vibrant culture to the rest of the Philippines, and even the world.
Since its inception, BCBA has been a celebration of creativity, authenticity, and community. It acknowledges how much Cebu’s blogging scene has evolved, and how local creators continue to inspire through words, visuals, and genuine connection.
