Last Friday night, I had the pleasure of attending the Korean BBQ Night at Dusit Thani Mactan Cebu—a delightful celebration of Chuseok, Korea’s Harvest Festival. The evening kicked off Flavours of Korea, a week-long culinary journey designed to bring the best of Korean cuisine right here to Cebu.
Hosted at the breathtaking Boardwalk by the Sea, this sizzling BBQ night was led by Chef Yongjun Kwon from Fili Hotel-NUSTAR Cebu, ensuring that every bite was authentically Korean and absolutely mouth-watering.

From the moment I arrived, I could feel the festive atmosphere. The sea breeze, twinkling lights, and the tantalizing aroma of grilled meat set the stage for an unforgettable night. As a fan of Korean food, I was thrilled by the selection of marinated meats, fresh vegetables, and savory sides like kimchi, samgyeopsal, and banchan.
What made the night even more special was the interactive grilling experience. Guests could cook their own meats at their table, creating that iconic Korean BBQ experience. The highlight for me? The juicy, tender cuts of beef, perfectly complemented by Korean sauces and spices.
