New Year, new goals! With all travel restrictions removed after the pandemic, now is the perfect time to tick all the places on our travel bucketlists! For myself, I have always been advocating for local travel. Since I started travel blogging as Libotero in 2010, I’ve always promoted “libutin natin ang sariling atin” and I plan to revisit some places in the Philippines that have left a good impression on me.
With the New Year also comes new challenges! Since I’ve started using Maya, I managed my finances better as I use it to pay my bills, shop, invest on funds and crypto! Just by doing these regularly with Maya, I get rewarded with boosted interest of up to 14% per annum, a FREE Maya card, and other cashback rewards. Now, we can all get a chance to be 1 of 4 winners of UnliFlights for the whole year when we use Maya to save, spend, invest and borrow!
Bacolod. The City of Smiles and home of the Masskara Festival. Would definitely want to go back to eat Chicken Inasal at Manukan Country, and Blueberry Cheesecake and Mudpie at Calea, plus a sidetrip to The Ruins and Lakawon Island.
Davao. While the city itself is a destination, I’d like to go back to the laidback beach city of Mati, and explore the rest of the natural attractions in Davao Oriental.
Dumaguete. The City of Gentle People and “University Town” has a slow-paced lifestyle and an interesting night scene, but I’d also love to go back to the Balinsasayao Twin Lakes in Sibulan, and Manjuyod sandbar.
Iloilo. The City of Love is home to the Dinagyang Festival which has been awarded as the country’s Best Tourism Event for a number of times. Iloilo is also a great culinary destination, especially known for their batchoy, and several well-preserved cultural and historical attractions.
Manila. Yes we do keep coming back to Manila to shop for brands that are not yet in Cebu, and for concerts and events, like UAAP, which I really fly to every year.
Roxas. The Seafood Capital of the Philippines. I miss the fresh diwal (or angel wing clam) in Roxas! That alone is enough reason to return.
Zamboanga. Dubbed as Asia’s Latin City, their language is Chavacano, which is also called “Philippine Creole Spanish”. I’d love to revisit Zamboanga for the Tausug food, like Tiyula Itum, plus the best-selling Curacha. Zamboanga is also the gateway to Basilan.
