This November, art lovers and enthusiasts across the Philippines are invited to the Visayas Art Fair 2024 for a unique celebration of artistic diversity. Now in its fourth year, this prestigious event will take place from November 21-24, 2024, at Oakridge Business Park in Cebu. In collaboration with the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA), the Visayas Art Fair continues to unite the Philippine art community, drawing together the creative energies of artists from Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.

Organized by the Cebu Culture Art and Design Foundation (CCAD), and led by Chairwoman Lorenza “Laurie” Boquiren, the Visayas Art Fair 2024 promises an unforgettable experience that combines art exhibits, workshops, and cultural performances, all dedicated to showcasing the rich artistic heritage of the Visayas region.

What to Expect at the Visayas Art Fair 2024

A Showcase of Artistic Diversity

This year’s theme, “Artistic Diversity,” celebrates the unique styles and cultural expressions of Filipino artists. Visitors can explore:

Interactive Art Exhibits at the 12th-floor studio, featuring works by artists from the Visayas and Mindanao, alongside selected galleries from NCR and international galleries from Malaysia.

Creative Installations across Oakridge Business Park’s gardens, including sculptures, street art, and crochet displays.

With diverse mediums on display, the event appeals to art lovers of all tastes, whether drawn to traditional or contemporary works.

Featured Artists and Highlights

This year’s fair introduces collaborations with several notable artists and initiatives:

1. Kidlat Tahimik – The “Father of Philippine Indie Cinema” will present his unique vision of Filipino culture through an engaging film display.

2. The Baylan of Mount Kalatungan – A multimedia exhibit by Gab Mejia exploring the spiritual traditions of the Talaandig-Manobo community in Bukidnon.

3. James Doran-Webb – Renowned for his magnificent driftwood sculptures, Doran-Webb will showcase his latest masterpiece, a 6-meter-tall dragon, symbolizing prosperity.

4. Artistic Fusion – This collaboration merges fashion and art, with products inspired by this year’s theme: Artistic Diversity.

5. Pinta de Baryo – A Davao-based mural project, celebrating the heritage and community spirit of Filipino villages.

In addition to exhibits, the Visayas Art Fair 2024 offers hands-on experiences, including:

Art & Design Talks and Workshops led by prominent artists from Visayas and Mindanao, sharing insights on sustainable art practices.

With 31 galleries from all over the Philippines, the Visayas Art Fair 2024 unites a wide network of creatives, featuring exhibitors like Florentino’s Art Gallery, Qube Gallery, and Mariyah Gallery from Dumaguete. International representation includes The Artemis Art Gallery from Malaysia.
