The country’s biggest and grandest festival is fast approaching. Now on its eighth year, Islands Souvenirs takes fiesta fever up a notch with their biggest Sinulog campaign Cut and Style featuring all-new special edition Sinulog t-shirt designs that can be personalized and customized.
This year, Cut and Style is bringing Filipino’s ethnic pride of arts and culture to a whole new level of fashion. Island Souvenirs Cut and Style presents this year’s theme – “Ethnic Hype”, showcasing authentic Filipino patterns that are truly colorful and powerful, celebrating a grateful nostalgia to our old roots.
Cut and Style Sinulog 2020 celebrates true Cebuano craftsmanship as the shirts will be stylized personally by Fashion Institute of Design and Arts (FIDA) Cebu and Cebu Technological University students from the department of garments. The materials used on styling are authentic Filipino patters and embellishments applied on ethnic-inspired Sinulog shirt designs.

My Sinulog Shirt from Cut and Style 2020
For practical reasons, my Sinulog shirts are always either white or black (mostly white though because dried sweat on a black shirt doesn’t look nice), but this year, I decided to be a little bit playful and chose the tie-dyed shirt. For the embellishments, I just chose feather colors that were on the shirt.
Dav of FIDA Cebu was my stylist and when he asked me how I wanted my shirt to be styled, I just said, “up to you haha!”. But basically, I didn’t want it to be cut into a tank top. So I had the feathers glued to the neck area, and then some parts of the shirt irregularly torn. Yay or nay?
Cut and Style Fashion Show
This year, Islands Souvenirs is very proud to have a face for their year long campaigns. Revering as the perfect face for the campaign is the award-winning host and very adventurous Drew Arellano. He will kick off his experience as he hypes the party and walk the ramp for Cut and Style Fashion Show. Complementing Drew is the recently crowned Miss Millennial 2019, the Cebuana Lass, Nicole Borromeo. They will be walking along with chosen Cebuanos who have contributed impactful marks in their respective fields.
